The event will include a panel Q&A titled “What next? Navigating and surviving the transition from higher degree study to employment in academia or your profession”. The transition from higher degree study in Geography to a position within academia or a relevant industry can be a time of significant uncertainty and precarity. This panel will help you to understand ways to navigate and survive this transition, with speakers in research, academic and professional positions who have recently completed higher degree study. It will also provide a chance for Honours and Masters students to ask questions about what comes next after completing their studies. A list of speakers will be provided on the Eventbrite page closer to the event.

This session will be followed by an end of year drinks celebration (4:00pm - 6:00pm) for all conference attendees, Geographical Society members and friends in the Arts Function Room, Macquarie University. We will also be celebrating the MacDonald Holmes Medal and Fellowship Award winners for 2022.
