Travellers Club
The Travellers Club meets five times a year to hear and see accounts of travels around the world by members and others. They range widely in subject and area, from volcanoes and cities to the Galapagos Islands and North Korea. You can view our coming meeting dates on the right of this page. Details of the speaker and his or her topic are posted a little closer to each meeting.
The venue for meetings is the Irvine Room at Norths (North Sydney Leagues Club), 12 Abbott Street Cammeray. At Norths there are 30 surface parking spaces in front of the building, including several for those with a disabled permit, but if none is vacant proceed to Palmer Street, turn left and within 30 metres enter the parking station. The 4th level is the roof, open to the sky. It is at the same level as the ground floor of the club and you can walk straight in to the foyer. Then proceed by stairs or lift to the 1st floor and turn left to our space, the Irvine Room. The travellers gather from 2.00pm for light refreshments, the talk is between 2.30 and 3.30pm, followed by coffee and cake. All that for $15. Many of the regulars have been on one or more of Colin Sale’s or Heather Rushton's highly rated overseas Study Tours, so there is much to talk about. For more information about these Study Tours click here.
It is essential to know the number to cater for, so, whether you are already on the mailing list or coming for the first time, please inform the Society’s office (Bronwyn Bate) of your attendance. Contacts: 0413 894 454 or 4736 0959, or by email through our Contact Us form. If in desperate need, you can contact the Club’s convenor, Dr Bob Solomon, at 9516 2139.
After each meeting a report summarising the presentation is made available on this website. To access and download our past reports go to the Travellers Club category in our Resource Library.
