Travellers Club

The Travellers Club meets five times a year to hear and see accounts of travels around the world by members and others. They range widely in subject and area, from volcanoes and cities to the Galapagos Islands and North Korea. The meetings have lately been in March, May, July, September and November and tentative dates for 2012 are 11th March, 6th May, 22nd July, 16th September and 11th November.

The venue for meetings is St Ignatius College, Riverview, fronting the Lane Cove River, where parking is easy beside the main building. Tambourine Bay Road leads to the entrance. The travellers gather on the 1st floor from 2.30pm for drinks and biscuits, the talk is between 3.00 and 4.00pm, followed by coffee and cake. All that for $10. Many of the regulars have been on one or more of Colin Sale’s highly rated overseas tours, so there is much to talk about.

It is helpful to know the number to cater for, so, whether you are already on the mailing list or coming for the first time, please inform the Society’s office (Rosalie Atie) of your attendance. Contacts: 4736 0959 or by email through our Contact Us form. If in desperate need, you can contact the Club’s convenor, Dr Bob Solomon, at 9516 2139.

You can view our coming meeting dates on our Events page.  Details of the speaker and his or her topic are posted a little closer to each meeting.

After each meeting a report summarising the presentation is made available on this website.  To access and download our past reports go to the Travellers Club category in our Resource Library.
